The Cooperative

Montessori Preschool Pärlugglan is a non-profit association where all parents are members. Together with the preschool principal and staff, we run the preschool, which is funded by municipal grants and the commitment of families. The association also owns the property.
As a member, you gain close insight into your child’s daily life—and an important role in contributing. Parents share responsibilities such as cleaning a few times per year, garden days, and an on-call system to cover staff absences. You can also take on a board position or join working groups, for example for admissions, property, or the garden.
This shared responsibility builds community and pride. You become an active part of the children’s environment, get to know the staff and other families well, and directly help us maintain small groups and high quality. At the same time, we also gather for festive occasions like the harvest celebration and summer party.
We offer:
  • A clear Montessori profile
  • High staff-to-child ratio and experienced teachers
  • Engaged parents and short decision-making paths
  • A safe, stable, and joyful environment for the children
We expect:
  • Participation in three annual deep-cleaning days
  • Involvement in two joint garden days
  • Availability to step in through our on-call system when needed
  • Engagement in the board or working groups
  • Attendance at parent meetings and community activities
